Richard Gelinas, brings to the firm over 46 years legal experience. Having served as President of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Hampden County Bar Association, life time member and fellow of the American Bar Associations, member of the Judicial Nominating Committee and numerous other volunteer offices in local, state and national bar associations, Dick is one of the most highly regarded members of the bar. Trusted and respected for his integrity and sense of fairness, Dick if often sought out for his unique problem solving approach to complex legal issues. Having tried over a thousand cases Dick’s experience and depth of knowledge provides the firm with a unique advantage to successful client case resolution.

Having inherited his father Richard’s problem solving abilities, Jim is often appointed by the Probate and Family Court for various complicated and problematic estates and guardianships. Being both an experienced litigator and estate planning and administration practitioner, Jim carries unique qualifications. Appointed one of the youngest Public Administrators for Hampden County to serve as fiduciary for estates with no executors, Jim was recognized in 2002 by Business West Magazine as one of the top ten attorneys under 40 in the region and voted Super Lawyer by Boston Magazine.

With over 18 years of experience, Bob has combined his undergraduate degree in business administration with his legal training to develop a comprehensive practice in Business Planning and Acquisitions, Commercial and Residential Real Estate, Commercial Financing, Bankruptcy as well as complex Business and Personal Injury Litigation. Previously an adjunct facility member at the Elms College, Bob has lectured and written on these practice areas. As managing partner, Bob is proud of Gelinas & Lefebvre’s proven success providing its clients with sophisticated legal representation typically available at larger firms.

Before joining the firm, Associate Attorney Cary Szafranski worked for two years as a Superior Court Law Clerk in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Berkshire counties. She graduated with honors from Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey, and holds an English degree from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to her legal career, Cary held various editorial positions at the Wall Street Journal in New York, New Jersey, and Chicopee. A native of western Massachusetts, Cary graduated from West Springfield High School. She is admitted to the bar in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
